Hello ,

If you are new here – it won’t be long before you get sick of me harping on about how much of your business success lays in how you THINK about doing business.

Thought comes before the doing… which leads me to a distinction which will be very useful in building success into your “Marketing Business”.

What is the difference between a client and a customer?

The first thing most people think is nothing – they are the same. And in most of todays world you would be right. You could interchange customer and client in your conversations and the meaning to most people would change in the least.

However there is actually quite a lot of difference… and this is where you can set yourself aside from your competition.

Customer: A person who buys good or services.

Client: A person who is under the protection of another.

The key difference here is ownership. A business who has clients takes them under their protection. They look out for their clients best needs.

A business who only has customers just sells them stuff.

Own your clients, look after them properly. The were expensive to get in the first place.

Happy Marketing,
James

PS. You will notice interesting changes in your business – particularly the amount of profit you make when you stop having customers and start creating clients.
